My cousin Jassy came over and brought some masks from The Princess and The Frog movie!  She saw kids making  them at The Disney Store and asked for a couple of them so she could bring give them to the kids.  She got them a couple weeks ago, but I told her to save it till the kids were on winter break so they would have something to do.

Here are the girls getting started on theirs

Photo Frame Stocking Holders December 21, 2009

Filed under: Arianna, Family, Holidays, Nicholas Aiden, Riley Anne — Elizabeth @ 8:47 PM

The kids LOVE doing crafts so I’ve been looking for different Christmas crafts for them to do while they are on Christmas break and I found these DIY photo frame stocking holders from The Tomkat Studio’s blog.  I bought some frames from Michaels, paint and we were ready to start.

Nick is ready!

And so are the girls

Nick picked red and started working hard on his

Riley chose white

And Ari did green her favorite color

My hard working babies :)

Nick say “I’m DONE” so I had to finish painting his corners

Riley is done too

So is Ari

After we let them dry we painted a second layer of color over it so the colors would be brighter.  When the second coat of paint was dry I took one of the lids from Laci’s baby food and traced circles on all the frames.  Then I outlined all the circles with the color paint they were going to use and I let them paint in the circles.

Riley is almost done with hers.  She did a GREAT job and only went out of the lines a couple times.

Arianna was working really hard on hers so she won’t mess up

Nick didn’t want to paint his circles so I did it for him

Riley all done with hers

Arianna’s is done too

All the frames are done!

Now I just need to go to Home Depot and by some wood to screw on the bottom of the frames as a base.  Then I will attach a hook on each wood base, print out pictures of each kid and then they will be done!!!!  I’ll post a picture as soon as I finish attaching the bases and printing the pictures.

Visit with Santa December 21, 2009

This year I took the kids to visit Santa at The Jelly Belly Factory!  It was so cute there and you can use your own camera so you don’t have to buy the ones they sell which was the main reason we went there……LOL.

The set-up they had was really nice and so was Santa!

Close-up of them and Laci’s 1st picture with Santa!!!!

They also took some pictures downstairs by some Christmas trees

Edible Christmas Trees December 21, 2009

Filed under: Arianna, Holidays, Nicholas Aiden, Riley Anne — Elizabeth @ 4:34 PM

Now that the kids are excited that Christmas is coming I decided that we need crafts to do!  I saw these cute edible Christmas trees somewhere and thought it was easy enough for the kids to do.  It’s made from sugar cones, green frosting and M&M’s as ornaments, but of course you can use whatever candies you want.

Arianna decorating hers

Riley sneaking a taste :)

Nick is done with his

Riley’s Birthday Party December 21, 2009

Filed under: Jassy's cakes, Parties, Riley Anne — Elizabeth @ 4:00 PM

Riley’s birthday party was postponed in November because I was super sick so we had to move it to the 1st week of December.  Since it was a last minute change a lot of her classmates weren’t able to make it, but she had fun anyway.  She decided on an Alice n Wonderland theme so I searched Etsy for some cute Alice stuff and found these invites.

And these matching place cards

I asked my cousin Jassy to make a topsy turvy cake for Riley.  And it turned out so cute!

Riley with her guests (minus a couple girls who were late)

I forgot to take a picture of the food, but I made pb&j sandwiches that were heart shaped and bologna & cheese sandwiches that were flower shapes.  I also made some chicken alfredo pasta and ordered a tray of chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A.  Then we had a chocolate fountain and tons of fruit!  After the kids finished having lunch I had them paint little animals/bugs that I got at Michael’s.

Riley painting a Ladybug

Arianna also painting a Ladybug

For Nick I bought him a dinosaur and a football player

Singing “Happy Birthday” to Riley

Blowing out her candles

She ate the whole top layer of her cake…..LOL

(the hat says 11/17 because that’s her birthday)

Thanks to everyone who made it!  Riley had a great time and I can’t believe she is 5 years old already!!!
