My cousin Jassy came over and brought some masks from The Princess and The Frog movie!  She saw kids making  them at The Disney Store and asked for a couple of them so she could bring give them to the kids.  She got them a couple weeks ago, but I told her to save it till the kids were on winter break so they would have something to do.

Here are the girls getting started on theirs

Photo Frame Stocking Holders December 21, 2009

The kids LOVE doing crafts so I’ve been looking for different Christmas crafts for them to do while they are on Christmas break and I found these DIY photo frame stocking holders from The Tomkat Studio’s blog.  I bought some frames from Michaels, paint and we were ready to start.

Nick is ready!

And so are the girls

Nick picked red and started working hard on his

Riley chose white

And Ari did green her favorite color

My hard working babies :)

Nick say “I’m DONE” so I had to finish painting his corners

Riley is done too

So is Ari

After we let them dry we painted a second layer of color over it so the colors would be brighter.  When the second coat of paint was dry I took one of the lids from Laci’s baby food and traced circles on all the frames.  Then I outlined all the circles with the color paint they were going to use and I let them paint in the circles.

Riley is almost done with hers.  She did a GREAT job and only went out of the lines a couple times.

Arianna was working really hard on hers so she won’t mess up

Nick didn’t want to paint his circles so I did it for him

Riley all done with hers

Arianna’s is done too

All the frames are done!

Now I just need to go to Home Depot and by some wood to screw on the bottom of the frames as a base.  Then I will attach a hook on each wood base, print out pictures of each kid and then they will be done!!!!  I’ll post a picture as soon as I finish attaching the bases and printing the pictures.

This year I took the kids to visit Santa at The Jelly Belly Factory!  It was so cute there and you can use your own camera so you don’t have to buy the ones they sell which was the main reason we went there……LOL.

The set-up they had was really nice and so was Santa!

Close-up of them and Laci’s 1st picture with Santa!!!!

They also took some pictures downstairs by some Christmas trees

Edible Christmas Trees December 21, 2009

Filed under: Arianna, Holidays, Nicholas Aiden, Riley Anne — Elizabeth @ 4:34 PM

Now that the kids are excited that Christmas is coming I decided that we need crafts to do!  I saw these cute edible Christmas trees somewhere and thought it was easy enough for the kids to do.  It’s made from sugar cones, green frosting and M&M’s as ornaments, but of course you can use whatever candies you want.

Riley sneaking a taste :)

Snow Day!!! December 15, 2009

Filed under: Arianna, Family, Family Trips, Holidays, Laci Claire, Nicholas Aiden, Riley Anne — Elizabeth @ 10:29 PM

A friend of mine shared with us that there was going to be snow and activities being held in downtown Martinez.  A couple of us decided it would be fun to take our kids.  They had a little snow area for the kids to play in, sledding, face painting, tattoos, ice skating, cookie decorating and more!  The first thing we did when we got there was buy tickets to go sledding and the kids were so excited to see snow!!!  The first time they went down it wasn’t a very good run because there was a bump in the middle which made them spin out, fall over, of flip over.  After that they weren’t too excited about the snow anymore :(

I decided to take the kids around to the other activities.  First was face painting which was free!  Riley and Nick got a snowman and Arianna got a Christmas tree :)

Next was nail painting which was free also!  The girls of course LOVED it!

Nick was in line also because he wanted a tattoo which was at the same table.  Dustin didn’t know there were tattoos there and told him to get out of line because it was only for girls.  So Nick got upset and was pretty grouchy and mad at Dustin for awhile.

Showing me his tattoo and he’s still mad at his Daddy

Next was cookie decorating and it was $1 per cookie.  The kids love frosting and sprinkles so they had to do this also.

They still didn’t want to go sledding so we brought them to the snow play area.  It was for kids 5 and under so Ari couldn’t play in it, but Riley and Nick did.

Trying to balance because it was slippery

Riley getting snow so she could make a snow ball.

Trying to decide if he likes the snow

I think he likes it :D

Before we left we made the kids try sledding one more time since we had already bought the tickets.  First was Arianna who was very hesitant on doing it again because the first time she flipped over and she was not happy at all :(

She was going very fast and I think she was nervous that she was going to fall again.

Riley was next and was excited

She LOVED it!

She was going so fast that they tried to stop her so she wouldn’t crash so hard into the end barrier.

Nick was nervous too because the first time he went down with Dustin and this time he went alone.

He went down really fast as well :)

But I think he liked it!

The kids had so much fun and I wish we could take them to Tahoe!  Thanks again to Michelle for inviting us and it was great to see everyone, but I wish we could have chatted more :)
